Hall of Fame Ceremony & Pong this Sat. - 2/23/2009

From PiedPipersHouseOfPong

Hello Lovers of Pong:

Pied Piper’s House of Pong recently established a Club Promotion Hall of Fame

On Saturday Feb 28th, we intended to honor the four initial inductees in a formal ceremony with a $25.00 cash award (and other awards). Regrettably one of the designated honorees (Chris Bridges) cannot attend. We will go forward though, and present the following individuals with awards this Saturday (Feb 28th):

Mike Mui, Nancy Mracek, Chris Salazar

The festivities will begin at 1:00 pm in the afternoon, with the ceremony lasting approximately 45 minutes, followed by a 15-minute greeting and reception period. The word "formal" only means that we will show reverence for these inductees and no one needs to wear a tux or other formal attire. Standard Pong attire is fine (we really wouldn’t have it any other way).

Everyone is welcome at the Hall of Fame Celebration (at no cost). Please help us to show reverence for the inductees by both attending (if at all possible) and not coming late!

Then - following the reception (you guessed it) Pong! Yes, Pong – the very thing that Pongers love more than "lobster on the half shell" and cherish more so than a Mozart symphony.

Open play will commence on Saturday Feb 28th from 2 to 5 pm at a 50% discount off the standard $6.00 Club dues for anyone who attends the Hall of Fame Celebration.

That's right - $3.00 entry to Pong for anyone that helps us congratulate these noble Hall of Famers from 1 to 2 pm. (There is no charge for those who wish to attend only the Hall of Fame ceremony and not play Pong).

There are of course exceptions. Those with a Pied Piper's monthly membership will not be required to pay session dues on this special Saturday. Also, should any of the three Hall of Fame inductees wish to stay and play Pong, they will not (of course) pay a dime. Rather, all of us Pongers, far and wide, owe them a debt of gratitude for their service.

With these four individuals – there are no 2nd place finishers. Conversely, each and every one of them is well beyond "first rate" in promoting Table Tennis to its very finest hours. We are all honored and blessed to have known them and their unique contributions. The opportunity to present them with awards and recognition will be our finest hour.
