Lefty and the Lad

In the annals of fine Pong at the Campus of Mines
Comes one Lefty the Looper who drinks no wines
Teamed with the Mighty Paul B, a Lad from Busch
Lefty and the Lad beat all who would block or push

With two quick doubles victories right in a row
All the competition is dealt a most severe blow
Pounding many hitters as well as those who chop
No Pong Team caused this duo to come to a stop

Lefty the one and only Southpaw Looping Machine
Teamed with Mighty Paul B to form a duo so mean
Wailing in sad defeat other Pong Teams would go
The glories of Past Champs losing luster and glow

Lefty and the Lad beat "Treachery and Old Age"
With Power Pong strokes for a brand new age
Not even Pied Piper’s magical pips that are so long
Knocked Lefty and the Lad from the Winner's song

Lefty the Southpaw looped balls as a record grooved
As the Mighty Paul B hit any Pong ball that moved
Down went Pied Piper and one "Out of the Wood"
The former Wall of Famers sure did not look good

Is there a new Pong Dynasty about to be born?
Will Mighty Paul B and Lefty put others to scorn?
Lefty with Loops and Mighty Paul B with the Blast
In this year have conquered all the Champions Past

Two very contrasting styles stepping up to the plate
Teamed as a fantastic duo to become very first-rate
At the Campus of Mines they have entered the stage
With hits and loops destined for a very new Pong age

Together Pongers will see what the near future brings
Whether Lefty and the Lad get more Winners' rings
Yet here in this venue they are the Champs of the day
As the Past Champs look back on their glory heyday

Lefty looped against Piper's long pips four times in a row
Graham and Pied Piper then knew -- down they would go
Mighty Paul B relentlessly hit balls like a nuclear blast
As the glory of the Past Champs was fading ever so fast

Long pips may fool some, but not Lefty in this day of ascent
"Old Age and Treachery" had no offense to make a dent
The Piper and "One out of the Wood" were beaten very bad
Some Pongers say it was one of the worst beatings they had

Lefty as one of the Great Southpaw Looping Machines
Teamed up with the Mighty Paul B barely out of his teens
Old Champs may get them one day, if things go full-circle
But for now, Lefty and the Lad enjoy the Winner's Circle
