Lefty the Looper

Upon the Campus one Fall a young man arrives
Destined to build a fine Pong Club that thrives
A single table in the Union was all that we had
Until things bettered with the advent of this lad
At first Lefty’s technique was just a wee bit rough
Learning Pong through times so very often tough
When Penholders beat Lefty with the greatest of ease
It caused him to then proclaim "Penhold is a disease"
The words were most prophetic as wouldn't you know
There were many more Penholders to attend the show
They clobbered Lefty right then clobbered Lefty left
Even Penhold woman beat him, though having less heft
Pongers then wondered - Would there be any Lefty left?
When the Penholders decided they were all through
The Mighty Shakehanders wanted a piece of him too
One Guido the Hammer and the Pied Piper of Pong
Ensured that Lefty didn’t stay at the table very long
The Pong Club grew strong and saw the tables increase
Lefty the Looper improved as a machine getting grease
Lefty worked on his forehand loop to muster better spin
Then many more of the Pong matches Lefty could win
A Head Coach coined him with the name Lefty the Looper
Because of the left-handedness coupled with loops super
Lefty's Leftyness makes him a doubles player's prize
And over the years his Pong game has been on the rise
Lefty could not beat Guido by year two thousand one
Yet if Guido returns Lefty surely would give him a run
It got as close as ever but Lefty did not beat Pied Piper
Yet perhaps very soon - Lefty's Pong days will be riper
One day soon, the Pied Piper will likely be undone
By one The Lefty Looper, a Fort Collins native son
Lefty nobly served the Pong Club as Mister President
The Club was most grateful as Lefty was Heaven-sent
The Pied Piper of Pong
