Partnership and Club Reopening - 4/22/2009

From PiedPipersHouseOfPong

Greetings Fellow Pongers!

I have acquired a partner for Pied Piper’s House of Pong Table Tennis Club. Welcome Todd Peshek, as my new full partner!

There is both bad news and good news with respect to Club re-opening. Negotiations broke down with Faith Mountain Church as a potential Club site. When it came down to the actual wording in the lease, it was way too restrictive and would severely limit our access to the space. We just couldn’t live with it, as we would be “at the mercy” of Church activities.

Yet there is good news! We have found out about a place in the 44th & Wadsworth area that would have more square footage and lease for less money than the Church. Due to scheduling conflicts, Todd and I cannot view this place until April 28th. This warehouse space at 44th & Wadsworth is with the same Property Manager who let us use the Old Daycare Space (Piper’s original Club).

We have learned the hard way though -- that we need a Plan B (after the Church snafu). So Todd will be looking around for some other places also, and he will be looking in the area of the original Club.

We do anticipate that the Club will likely reopen in May, albeit it won’t be on Friday May 1st. If the warehouse works out, the earliest we could sign the lease would be April 29th, and then we would need to move the Club on the weekend of May 2nd and 3rd. If all goes well, we could potentially reopen by Tuesday evening May 5th.

I miss everyone, and wish I had kept in better contact with all of you, but the time demands of closing out a club, work and family responsibilities, and planning for the new club are formidable.

Regards,

The Pied Piper of Pong
