He hopped into the Pong Club way back in the Spring
Unsuspecting Pongers not aware of his amazing thing
At John's self-taught technique, Coaches pause to stop
Lord God Almighty! - It is Uncle John’s Bunny Hop!
Leaping through the air and leaving the earth behind
Uncle John is a natural as he does the coil and unwind
Will the joy and laughter from this jump come to a stop?
Lord God Almighty! - It is Uncle John’s Bunny Hop!
A jump once thought unique to only the bunny rabbits
Uncle John makes it routine, like the everyday habits
Though not what Coaches teach, they sure look and stop
Lord God Almighty! - It is Uncle John’s Bunny Hop!
If you think you have the ball past him in the game
Uncle John leaps to action like a bunny not so tame
Like a Big Bunny leaping out from the corn in crop
Lord God Almighty! - It is Uncle John's Bunny Hop!
The Coaches told John when both feet leave the floor
Points are likely lost like wind through an open door
Then Uncle John makes one more fantastic dire leap
Returning the Ball!! – causing Coaches to lose sleep
The Coaches said this was despite the bunny rabbit form
Trying to teach Uncle John a form considered the norm
When Pong Coaches tried to fix the Great Rabbit Leap
It was to no avail, as Uncle John's leap he would keep
Coaches tried everything short of lead weights on his feet
Yet Uncle John kept leaping like to a gorgeous girl to meet
The jump thought only for rabbits is now Uncle John's sown reap
Could the only fix for Bunny Hop be a learning curve too steep?
Soon the Coaches consented that the Bunny Hop was to be
If not for all, at least for John it works well to be a bunny
Coaches relented and said, "For him we cannot improve this"
Pongers now embrace “bunny technique” with loving bliss
Like Danny and the Juniors before them, Coaches now say
Let's Go to the Hop! Let’s Go to the Hop!! On this very day
All in unison now!! – Coaches rouse all the Pongers to sing!
Let’s Go to the Hop!! – for Pongers it now has familiar ring
The stronger players beat him, although they are surprised too
Weaker players John drops quicker than drying morning dew
Forevermore this Leap of Leaps will cause Pongers to stop
Lord God Almighty! - It is Uncle John’s Bunny Hop!
